Spiral Galaxy

DARK MATTER

In Our Universe

Galaxy Cluster

Welcome to my Dark Matter Web Page!
I am currently a sophomore (math major!) at Union College, in Schenectady, New York. As a member of the Union College Scholars Program, I was required to do 2 terms of research (in any field I wished) during my sophmore year.
At the end of my freshman year, I decided it would be cool to do something in astronomy. I thought it would be fun to use the telescope here and look at the stars! Professor Koopmann (physics) agreed to advise my project, and (ironically) we decided I would do research on Dark Matter (not what I had planned on!!). I began my research over the summer and finally finished everything (research and paper) about 10 months later.
I thought it would be neat to create a website so that other students, or anyone interested, could view my paper and even take a look at the power point presentation I gave at the Steinmetz Symposium on May 10, 2002.

Finally, I would like to thank Professor Koopmann for all her time and effort, as well as the
Union College Scholars Program for giving me this research opportunity!
