crete 008 * The following pictures are mostly from Minoan 'palace' of Knossos. It is important to note that this site has seen major reconstruction / resotoration. Much of the elevated structure is made of cement and the frescoes are often 'filled in' from the pieces we have. This was controversial, but for the time, these efforts were the best they had available and it is because of them that the site can be visited today * 1600 x 1200 * (702KB)
