Welcome to Wells House on the Web! Our web page contains all you need to know about Wells House. Please bookmark us and look for frequent updates and changes to our schedule.
Wells House was founded in the Fall of 1994 with the intent to foster community involvement of Union College students. Wells House is not a "community service" theme house. Rather, we plan, participate, and encourage others to join in activities that better the community we call home for 4 years. This includes activities and events both on-campus and beyond the gates.
To give you an idea of the sort of thing that goes on at Wells House: In the past, we've held wildly popular and far-ranging events such as political debates, discussions of campus life, game shows, and health issues seminars. Beyond the gates, we've painted local bridges to better the appearance of the community, volunteered as highway clean-up personnel, and served as mentors to area elementary school children. As you can tell, we've got a lot going on.
We believe that our temporary community can benefit from Union and, in return, Union can benefit from its surroundings and itself. We're always open for suggestions and encourage students of all classes to get involved with Wells House.
