Head Coach Dave Riggi

Coach Riggi, who graduated from Union in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in applied mathematics and economics while earning varsity letters in both indoor and outdoor track, took over as head coach in 2002 after serving as the program’s assistant for two seasons.
At the time of his graduation, Dave held seven Union track records, four individual marks and three as a member of relay teams. One of the top sprinters in the state, Coach Riggi was nationally ranked and was the 1996 200 meter state champion.

Coach Riggi, who has also been the assistant track coach at Union for the past five seasons, earned his USATF Level 1 Coaching Certification and is extremely active in all aspects of training and conditioning for both the cross country and indoor and outdoor track teams.

Dave is joined by 2 assistant coaches. John Houghton, graduated from Union College in 2001 with a BS and went on to receive his MBA in 2003. Joe Kelmanovich, is still currently attending classes at Union. Both ran cross country and track for Union and offer extensive knowledge of running and training.
