Guy Fawkes was an angry Catholic who wanted to blow up the British parliament building, and protestant King James I. However, he was caught before he could do it, and hung, drawn, and quartered. To celebrate this, every year on November 5, the planned day of explosion, fireworks are set off in England and lots of Bonfires are lit. Lead by Andy, a group of CVUT students made our own display. The fireworks were quite large and reverberated throughout Prague. We were on the watch for the cops, but we were told that we'd be okay as long as no one called the police. They did come, but fortunately after we finished launching the rockets and burning the Guy Fawkes effigy, and didn't even stop.
And some video clips of the burning conspirator and a launch of four mortar blasts at once.
