U Recycle FAQs

  • What can be recycled?
Glass, plastic, aluminum, paper, or milk/orange juice containers. Visit " What Can Be Recycled" for more information.

  • What about paper?
Facilities began accepting paper in the fall of 2007. Bins will be placed in residential halls, administrative, and academic buildings accepting non-glossy paper. Cardboard is not accepted with paper.

  • How do I get involved?
Tell your friends what to recycle and push your fellow residents and classmates to make sure garbage goes in the garbage and recycling goes in the recycling bin. Contamination can be a huge problem and we need everyone's help.

  • Is this some grand money making scheme by that crooked French Canadian?
No, we make no profits from recycling. At this point it we do not have the capacity to sort or redeem the massive amounts of recyclables we take in.

  • The bin by my room is full! What can I do? It is starting to overflow and smell...
Report it on the facilities work order system at FIXX.

  • Where can I download some of those kick-ass ads I see on campus?
    Look no further: ...than here.

  • I'm pretty damned lazy. Is there a way I can just recycle and passively show my support?
Oh yeah! You should join the U Recycle facebook group. It demonstrates that U support recycling and those involved.
