General Guidelines

Most types of plastic containers, aluminum cans, glass bottles, and milk cartons can all be recycled. U Recycle would like to recycle paper in residence halls, but is currently operating at maximum capacity. The program fills a large pick up truck weekly with 600 pounds worth of recyclable material.

In general, all recycling should be clean and free of contamination. In the past, recycling programs at Union have been shutdown because our recycling contaminated municipal recycling efforts. Do your best to make sure all food or debris has been rinsed off your recycling!

All recycling should be completely empty. One increasing problem is that containers will be put into the blue recycling bins with liquid still left in them. Be a champ and finish everything from that pristine water bottle to that second forty!

All of the following recycling dudes can be recycled below, with the exception of Nedry the Newspaper and Cecil the Cereal Box. Just make sure everyone from Brendon the Beer Bottle to Mandy the Milk Carton are squeaky clean. Olaf the orange juice container is a little frustrated because some asshole in Potter thought it would be funny to urinate in his tummy.
