Groups of Interest
  • Environmental Club is a student organization that focuses on current environmental issues on campus and around the world. In the past, Environmental Club has promoted Earth Day and sustainable practices such as using reuseable mugs. The group is also one of the original groups to push for recycling campus-wide.   • Campus Action is a progressive political group that promotes discourse across the political spectrum. The group is involved with protests, putting together an annual Iraq War Memorial, and often sponsors speakers and films such as Former UN Weapons Inspector Scott Ritter or Dennis Kyne in a talk about the environmental consequences of depleted uranium. The group loves when visitors stop by their weekly meetings in front of Schaffer Library.
  • Outing Club goes all over the northeast, helping students gain an appreciation for the outdoors with an emphasis on "leave no trace" camping, hiking, canoeing, climbing, and skiing!   • Ozone House is a theme house that concentrates on Environmental Issues. Ozone was instrumental in founding the U Recycle program and is involved in various conservation projects and activities such as Re-Tree Schenectady. The house is located at 1294 Lenox Road and is coordinated by Olivier Bouchard, boucharo@union.edu.
  • Ozone Café is a weekly organic lunch that invites faculty, staff, and students into Mrs. Perkins' Garden for delicious organic food, locally grown food, or a combination of the two.
