tak comics is designed, written, and drawn by Wesley Pyen.

Tak stands for two asian kids, and follows the two college students through some of their experiences.

the comic was originally made as a scholars project during my sophomore year at Union college. It was overseen by professor Fernando Orellana, from the visual arts department.

It was completed over two trimesters (20 weeks). During that time, I learned to draw comics by hand, studying some comic theory by scott mccloud. I learned to use a tablet, designed a web page, and completed 6 comics. some of my influences include bill waterson (calvin and hobbes), tim buckley (ctrl+alt+del), jerry holkins (penny arcade), mike krahulik (penny arcade), scott ramsoomair (vg cats), scott bevan (white ninja comics), kent earle (white ninja comics), nicholas gurewitch (perry bible fellowship), and scott mccloud (various).
