The first sister podcast of Escape Pod. Pseudopod began as a biweekly podcast until it switched to a weekly format a few episodes in. In my own opinion, this is probably the best move that Pseudopod could have made. In any event, Pseudopod is the literary magazine of the internet “horror” scene. Like Escape Pod, there are multiple types of episodes including Pseudopods, Pseudopod: Flashes, Psuedopod: Reviews, and Pseudopod: Autopsies (links below). The Pseudopods themselves are currently released weekly on Fridays. These are novellas of approximately half-hour duration (technically defined in the same fashion as Escape Pods) with some additional material before and afterward, though usually less than in Escape Pod. Mur Lafferty and Ben Phillips were co-producers, with Mur Lafferty doing most of the “hosting,” until she had to reduce her commitments so as not to burn out. Currently Ben Phillips and Alasdair Stuart are the co-hosts, with hosting duties split between them. I would note that I stopped listening to Pseudopod around episode 050 (I have heard a few after and missed a few before), though I intend to catch up at some point.
