HST 63: The History of the Caribbean and Central America (Fall; Meade). (Also Women's Studies 52). Study of the people and cultures of the Caribbean and Central American regions from the fifteenth century to the present. Includes English, French, Spanish, and Dutch settlements. SPN 130: Introduction to Spanish and Spanish American Literature: (Winter, Moyano). Close reading of fiction, drama, and poetry, with particular attention to the techniques of literary analysis. Readings will be chosen from all periods. Prerequisite: Spanish 122 or permission of the instructor. GenEd: CD-LA
