Members consist of students, alumni, and other professionals who have demonstrated exceptional academic and professional accomplishments. Φ Chapter HistoryThe Phi Chapter of Eta Kappa Nu is one of the oldest academic honor society chapters at Union College. It was founded on February 20th, 1926. The Phi Chapter has worked hard to promote electrical and computer engineering to the campus community. The addition of computer engineering has added much to the capabilities of the students of Eta Kappa Nu. HKN History
Eta Kappa Nu was formed as a result of the vision of Maurice L. Carr, an electrical engineering student at the University of Illinois. He shared his vision of a unique organization that recognized academic excellence in engineering with nine other students, and together they founded Eta Kappa Nu on October 28, 1904.
