The most remarkable leadership in the African American community in the 20th century has without question come from the ranks of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the first intercollegiate fraternity for men of African descent. Since its founding on December 4, 1906 at Cornell University, the Fraternity has supplied voice and vision to the struggle of African Americans and people of color around the world. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was brought to the Union College's Campus in 1983 as the first multicultural organization of its kind. Since its inception, the Pi Pi chapter has held their organization's legacy of leadership and excellence dear to their hearts. The elite brothers of Pi Pi have high moral character, and the persistence they have had in serving the Union and Schenectady community makes them shine on campus. The Brothers of Pi Pi Chapter are committed to excellence and will work as hard as they can to keep that great light of Alpha Shining bright.
