Types of Systems

Direct Connected
- Solar Panel Output Connected Directly to the Load
- Load Must be DC
- The Load will not be Satisfied when the Sun is not Shining

Grid Connected
- Electricity Must Be Converted to AC using an Inverter
- When the Array is Producing More Electricity then the Load
Draws, it Feeds into the Grid
- When the Array is not Producing Enough Electricity then the
Load Draws from the Grid
- When Feeding the Grid the Household will be Paid for that
Electricity
- Energy is "Stored" in the Grid

Battery Backup
- Electricity Must be Converted to AC using an Inverter
- Array Continuously Charges Batteries
- Charge Controller Prevents Over Charging or Drawing
- Load Continuously Draws from Batteries even when there is
no Sun
- This System is Grid Independent
