Clinton Square, Syracuse, N.Y. Heart of downtown Syracuse, N.Y. looking east along the former route of the Old Erie Canal.  Crossroads of Route 5 and U.S. Route 11 also known as the Hub of the Empire State.  On the left is the home of the Syracuse Savings Bank, this city’s oldest financial institution.  Constructed in 1875, Its Venetian Gothic architecture was suggested by the famous canal of Venice, Italy.

Clinton Square, Syracuse, N.Y. Clinton Square is located at the interection of Routes 5 and 11 and known as “The Crossroads of New York State.”  The Soldiers and Sailors Monument is located in Clinton Square, and the Federal Building overlooks the Square.
